Land Rover Baby Discovery

Last year, Land Rover announced that they would be scrapping the Freelander model and adding it to the Discovery range under the baby Discovery title. The model will take its place within the pricing range and may even take on a similar shape to that of the previous Freelander model.

The Jaguar Land Rover firm have been undergoing a major shake up of platforms and ranges over the past 2 years with new models coming under all brands. However, the Land Rover Freelander change came as a shock for many.

It is believed that the Land Rover model has been spotted under heavy disguise but seems to show a new five seater model with a very similar shape to the previous model. It is believed that the new Freelander model will be available for the cheaper price of £25,000.

The new baby Discovery model is likely to be revealed at the Pars Motor Show later this year and is set to officially go on sale in 2015. The model seems to have taken on an increase in size but not in weight, the new aluminium platform of models built under the Land Rover and Jaguar name seemed to have helped fuel economy and efficiency.

Jaguar have recently claimed a number of automotive headlines after revealing plans to reveal a BMW 3 Series rivalling saloon model. The new Jaguar XE model will become the most fuel efficient model in the class, giving the 3 Series model at BMW a major problem.

The new Baby Discovery model will have a considerable amount more competition as the popularity for the luxury SUV model continues to increase. Both BMW and Volkswagen have enjoyed a considerable amount of success with the SUV car market of late with sales even spilling over into the same category to that of the Range Rover Evoque.
