Compare Scratch & Dent Insurance & Alloy Wheel cover | Shortfall.co.uk

How do we compare to other Cosmetic Repair Insurance policies?

Being part of Aequitas Automotive Ltd, Shortfall.co.uk is part of a group of brands that offer a number of additional automotive-based products, designed to give you that financial protection should something happen to your vehicle. Whilst primarily, we specialise in Gap Insurance, we have also developed, in our opinion, one of the most comprehensive Scratch & Dent Insurance & Alloy Wheel products available in the UK.

So how can you compare levels of scratch and dent and alloy wheel cover and know that you are buying the most appropriate policy and getting the best value for money?

Area of Cover

With the majority of Scratch & Dent policies available, you only have the ability to protect yourself against incidents incurring damage less than 150mm in diameter.

We can cover damage double the size, 300mm in diameter. This gives you a greater scope of what is and isn't covered when it comes to making a claim. Whilst we must highlight that this form of insurance is only a 'minor' incident policy, the fact that we give you the ability to protect yourself against damage up to 30cm, again limits the number of times you would have to arrange an external body shop repair.

If you do however need a body shop then our policy will even contribute towards the cost. ( Terms and conditions apply )

Cover Damage up to 30cm

Not only do we cover scratches up to 30cm in diameter, we also cover incidents that spread over more than one panel.

Again, with lots of other policies, you'll find, they may only cover incidents that occur on one single panel rather than the damage that has spread over two.

We must highlight that damage that has spread over more than two panels wouldn't be covered and that's because we expect the size diameter to then be more than 30cm. As a bonus feature, we also cover cosmetic damage to your alloy wheels and we can cover not only standard wheels but also diamond, laser cut, and painted. So there is no need to buy an additional policy or spend extra money.

Cover for Roof & Body Shop Contribution

Unlike most scratch and dent policies in the market at the moment, we also cover damage that occurs on horizontal and flat surfaces such as the bonnet.

The size limitations are adjusted slightly for horizontal surfaces, however, we do offer cover for flat surfaces when most other policies wouldn't. However, as mentioned we can also contribute towards the cost of a body shop repair (you would need to speak to the claims team to get authorization, have the repair done and then send your invoice in for reimbursement.- terms and conditions apply).

Please remember that we can not cover damage to the roof of your car.

No Waiting time or Excess to Pay

Another advantage of a Shortfall.co.uk Scratch & Dent Insurance policy is that there is no waiting time and you are not limited to a maximum number of claims per year instead you have a maximum number of claims per policy.

You also have the ability to choose from 2 to 3 years' cover, whichever is going to be most suitable for you.

Another main point that we must highlight is that this form of insurance can only be purchased within the first 30 days of you owning the vehicle and on the date that you buy your policy your car must be brand new or less than 1 year old. It is not possible to extend or renew the policy at the point of expiry.

Low-Cost Scratch & Dent & Alloy Wheel insurance

The low price quoted for our comprehensive Scratch & Dent Insurance policy is simply an added bonus.

Whilst price is an important factor in any purchase, the ability of the policy and how it performs when you need to use it is than an essential part of any insurance.
