British car manufacturer, Arash, have unveiled a new mid engined AF8 supercar, which is set to rival the likes of the Noble M600, Ferrari 458 and McLaren 12C. The company plan to gauge consumer interest at the Geneva Motor Show this week, before announcing pricing and availability.

The Arash AF8 will be the fourth model from the company, following the Farbound GTS, Farbound GT and the AF10.

The Arash AF8 specs

The new supercar is powered by a mid mounted naturally aspirated 7.0 litre V8 capable of producing 550 brake horse power and 472lb/ft of torque, which was sourced from a Corvette Z06. The power is fed to the rear wheels through a six speed manual gearbox mounted directly to the sub frame. The V8 engine pushes the model to 62mph from a standstill in 3.5 seconds and overall the AF8's top speed has been pegged at 200mph.

The Arash AF8 style and tech

A low curb weight of 1,200kg is achieved through a chassis built from a mix of aluminium, carbon fibre and high strength steel, while the entire body was built from carbon fibre. High tensile steel side impact tubes and a roll cage serve to improve the chassis' durability and safety, while kevlar and carbon fibre reinforced plastics are used in strategic points to provide extra strength.

The model comes with forged 19/20 inch aluminium wheels and front/rear housing ventilated steel brake discs fitted to a double wishbone suspension. To control the power from the engine, six piston and four piston rear brake calipers have been added, with 380mm discs up front and 362mm discs at the rear.

Inside, the Arash AF8 gains a leather and carbon fibre trim interior equipped with a touch screen infotainment system, air conditioning and a heated front windscreen. Each AF8 model will also feature a metal plague engraved with the car's chassis number, Bluetooth connectivity, touch screen sat nav, five way traction control, Bi-Xenon headlights and LED rear lights. The Arash AF8 model also offers 42litres of storage for it's 'boot', which is situated at the front of the vehicle.

Colours for the model vary, with ten paint finishes available. A special 'Launch Edition' is to kick off the new model, available exclusively in 'launch yellow' and will be limited to just 36 units.

When the Arash AF8 supercar goes on show at Geneva along side other top car brands such as,Vauxhall, Honda and Toyota,  it will compete with the likes of the Koenigsegg Agera One:1 hypercar which will also be revealed. UK pricing for the Arash AF8 model has been set at around £165,000.
