Owners of the Audi brand, Volkswagen, have also been amongst the big winners in the market as they continue to increase sales figures with the hope of breaking the 10 million mark for new cars sold.

The BMW brand are also going to face increased competition form new models such as the Jaguar XE and the new Alfa Romeo saloon model. Both models will go up against the firms best selling model in the form of the 3 Series.

The Jaguar XE has been labelled as being the most fuel efficient and low emission vehicle in the segment and will be available for a considerable amount less than that of the BMW 3 Series. The new Alfa Romeo Saloon model is believed to be at a fraction of the price of both the 3 Series and the Jaguar XE model and will be available in the UK towards the end of the year.
