Compare Gap Insurance | Shortfall.co.uk

How does Shortfall Gap Insurance compare to others?

When purchasing any form of insurance, it's always essential that you look into the fine details of what your policy may or may not do. At Shortfall, we are very proud of the terms and conditions of our policies and none more so than the Gap Insurance. Having worked very closely with our underwriters, Mapfre | Abraxas, we have designed some of the most comprehensive features in the Gap Insurance industry.

£750 Excess Contribution - An excess contribution is something we expect to be featured as standard and has been highlighted as being a 5 Star feature and something to look out for. However, at Shortfall we have developed the excess feature to contribute the first £750 towards your motor insurance excess in the event of a total loss. Usually your standard policy will have an excess contribution of £250, if your excess is any higher than that, you will have to pay that figure in the event of you having to make a claim.

Free Policy Transfer - Again, a feature that has been highlighted as being a 5 Star feature within any Gap policy. You have the ability to transfer your policy completely free of charge to your next eligible vehicle, should you change early. Having the ability to transfer is a really cost effective feature, it ensures that should you change your vehicle earlier than expected, you are not left with a wasted portion of a policy.

Flexible Claim Limit Options - Depending on the purchase price of your vehicle and the level of risk, you will have the option of choosing a claim limit of upto £50,000.

30 Day Cooling Off Period - At Shortfall, we aim to give you as long as possible for you to change your mind without losing any monetary value. Therefore, if you change your mind for any reason at all, you have the ability to cancel the policy and obtain a full refund. Outside of the 30 day cooling off period, providing you haven't attempted to make a claim, you also have the ability of obtaining a pro-rata refund less a cancellation fee held by the insurer.

Cash Settlement - With the Combined Vehicle Replacement Gap, we never physically replace your vehicle, instead any settlement is always a cash settlement. This gives you the flexibility of doing whatever you want with the cash settlement. Other Vehicle Replacement policies may try and physically replace your vehicle rather than giving you the ability of choosing a replacement.

Market Value Clause - Some policies will only pay the difference from the market value of the vehicle up to the settlement figure. However, if your own motor insurer pays less than the market value, this could leave you with another shortfall. Our policies are different! Providing you give us the ability to speak to your own motor insurers on your behalf and don't accept any immediate offer, we will simply bridge the Gap.

Factory Fitted Options & Dealer Fitted Options - We cover 100% of all factory fitted options and upto £1500 worth of dealer fitted accessories. However, if you are looking for a Gap Insurance policy for a Motorbike, unfortunately, we won't cover any dealer fitted accessories.

Underwritten by an insurer with an 'A' credit rating - There are a number of insurers in the Gap Insurance field. From March 2017 all Shortfall products, with the exception of Motor Excess Insurance, are underwritten by MAPFRE. MAPFRE have a history that extends back decades, a wealth of experience in the manufacturers branded product field and a current 'A' credit rating for financial security.

Compare Alloy Wheel Insurance | Shortfall.co.uk

How does Shortfall Alloy Wheel Insurance compare to others?

Unlike Gap Insurance, there is a lot of variety in the features between different Alloy Wheel Insurance products you will find on the market. We boast a specialist Alloy Wheel Insurance product designed to cover Diamond/Laser Cut wheels as well as standard and painted.

Diamond/Laser Cut Wheels Covered - A number of Alloy Wheel Insurance products available may not cover diamond or laser cut wheels. This is because of the specialist repair techniques used by the authorised repairers. However, at Shortfall we specialise in diamond/laser cut wheels.

No Excess to Pay - When making a claim on our Alloy Wheel Insurance policy, there is no excess for you to pay. Again, another favourable feature, as with other providers online you will have to pay either £10 per claim or even more in some cases.

30 Day Cooling Off Period - At Shortfall, we aim to give you as long as possible for you to change your mind without losing any monetary value. Therefore, if you change your mind for any reason at all, providing you haven't attempted to make a claim, you have the ability to cancel the policy and obtain a full refund.

3 Claims Per Year - You have the ability to make upto 3 claims per year. With other policies only giving you as much as 5 over three years, we really do give you that value for money.

Best Price Guarantee - Whilst price is never the most important part of purchasing a product, it should be taken into consideration. We promise to be the best price you will find, we have a specialist team of industry experts who price check on a daily basis to ensure that the price you see is the best price you should find. That said, the market is always changing and in the unlikely event of you finding a better price, just let us know and we will beat it.

Above 20" Wheels Covered - With a number of providers, you will not be eligible for cover if you have wheels greater than 20 inches in size. However, this is not the case at Shortfall.

What's not covered?

Being part of Aequitas Automotive Limited, we like to highlight exactly what you get before purchasing any form of insurance. Whilst being amongst the most comprehensive Alloy Wheel Insurance products on the market, there are a number of things that this policy won't do.

Replacement Contribution - In the very unlikely event that your wheel is not repairable and instead the wheel needs replacing, this policy will not replace the wheel or offer any contribution towards doing so.

Alternative Repair Methods - This policy is a remote repair only, meaning that if the authorised repairer can't repair the wheel at your remote location, i.e your home address or place of work for example, there is no other alternative repair option.

Again, being part of Aequitas Automotive Limited, we have a range of brands all of which specialise in different products and have different features. If you are looking for a policy that will offer a replacement contribution or alternative repair options, please click here to visit our sister brand Totallossgap.co.uk.

Compare Tyre Insurance | Shortfall.co.uk

How does Shortfall Tyre Insurance compare to others?

Very much similar to the Alloy Wheel Insurance policy, infact, you have the ability to combine the two products into one, which tends to be a lot more cost effective than taking the two separately.

Standard & Run Flat Tyres - This policy will cover both Standard and Run Flat Tyres providing you have selected the correct tyre when clicking through the questionnaire.

No Excess to Pay - Unlike other providers, when making a claim there is no excess for you to pay.

Best Price Guarantee - Whilst price is never the most important part when purchasing a product, it should be taken into consideration. We promise to be the best price you will find, we have a specialist team of industry experts who price check on a daily basis to ensure that the price you see is the best price you should find. That said, the market is always changing and in the unlikely event of you finding a better price, just let us know and we will beat it.

£300 Replacement Contribution - In the event of the Tyre not being repairable, this policy will contribute the first £300 towards the cost of a replacement Tyre.

If you are looking to combine the Tyre Insurance with the Alloy Wheel Insurance and would like the additional features offered with the Alloy Wheel policy by Total Loss Gap, please click here to visit our sister brand Totallossgap.co.uk.

Underwriting Insurer - MAPFRE | Abraxas

The strength of a policy is not in the pretty pictures, the marketing strategy, the person or business that you are buying your policy from, or even in the advertising spend, the true strength of a policy lies instead with the underwriters.

This is because the world of insurance is somewhat insular. Like many other forms of insurance, the insurance company/underwriter does not deal directly with the general public. Instead they nominate a company to in effect, be the public face of their organisation.

We have been very fortunate to have policies underwritten by MAPFRE, a combination we consider to be the market leaders. Shortfall are proud to only offer policies underwritten by MAPFRE Asistencia and the claims administrator who are Abraxas Insurance Administration Services Limited (part of the MAPFRE Group). Both MAPFRE and Abraxas have what we consider to be genuinely outstanding reputations combining heritage, expertise, forward thinking and most importantly a real commitment to customer care. As such they have won too many awards to mention on an individual basis.

Most importantly the awards and accolades are not just from industry experts and peers, instead they are customer service dominated. Their longevity and reputation within the world of Gap Insurance and supplementary insurance is, in our opinion, unrivalled.MAPFRE Bristol

At Shortfall we are proud to be part of Aequitas Automotive Limited.

Aequitas Automotive Limited is a privately owned limited company that was started by a group of like minded motor industry senior managers and finance and insurance experts, who decided that there had to be a way to promote Gap Insurance that was fair, honest and above all transparent.

Our mantra is honesty, in that you should know exactly what to expect, what will happen, who will do what and when, even before you make a claim.

Good policies that perform, no gimmicks and prices that are fair to all parties.

Aequitas is the God of fairness and honesty in Greek mythology and this is something that we, in our company aspire to. This translates all the way from accounts through to customer service. From staff training to the design of our policies, everything has been implemented with fairness and transparency in mind. This reflects in the way in which we target and motivate our team, in that no-one is ever paid any commission, instead any incentives given are based on customer service, which we believe is the real barometer of any ethical company.

Completely independent, our loyalty lies with you as our customer, our website visitors and our staff whom without, we would not be able to constantly exceed your expectations regarding levels of service. We have a number of different brands with Shortfall.co.uk being amongst the most prominent online. If you call the customer service team for a quotation, we will run through a few questions with you to find out a little more about the vehicle before finding the best quotation for you across all of our brands.
