Jaguar F Type Convertible

A number of images have been released online that show a new a Jaguar F Type RS Convertible during testing. There have been a number of rumours circling the brand over a new high performance F Type model and it seems that those rumours have been confirmed.

At the New York Motor Show last week, the marketing director at Jaguar admitted that new performance based models under the Jaguar brand would help reinforce the roots of the brand. The new F Type RS model is likely to be powered by the 5.0 litre V8 engine that has the ability to produce 542bhp.

The new images seem to show a model that has had a number of extensive cosmetic changes. This is thought to be down to the housing of a mechanical convertible roof. The new model did have carbon ceramic brakes which are thought to be fitted as standard on the new development.

As the model is yet to be officially announced and unveiled by Jaguar, the firm are yet to confirm official performance figures. However, as we know a number of engine choices and the ability of the 5.0 litre V8 we can assume a number of corresponding figures.

The V8 engine has the ability to reach 0-62mph in just 4.0 seconds and reach a top speed of 186mph. It is not likely that the model has the ability to go any quicker than the figures achieved. The Jaguar Land Rover brand has been one of the stand out performers in the last 12 months as they look to target markets such as the Chinese and the Indian car markets respectively.

The Range Rover Evoque in particular has been one of the stand out models and allowed the Jaguar Land Rover brand to move into markets such as the Indian and the Chinese car markets. The new range of Jaguar X and F Type models has also allowed the brand to further sales and market share in markets such as the UK car market and other markets across Europe.
