Seat Leon Ecomotive

Seat have released the most efficient Leon model this month. The new model is based on the current 1.6 litre TDI diesel and will have an increased power output of 108bhp. A number of different fuel saving measures have taken place including weight loss and a choice of different tyres.

The Seat brand has become one of the most in demand manufacturers since the firm were acquired by the Volkswagen group. It is believed that the Seat brand is now seen as being the less expensive Volkswagen in the UK. The new Leon model is often the most popular choice for a young persons first car.

This year Volkswagen have been pushing the Seat, Skoda and Audi brands amongst others as they race forward to become the worlds best selling manufacturer. Last year the Volkswagen firm finished in third place behind General Motors who finished in second place and Toyota who topped the pile.

This year the Toyota brand are expected to fall down the list whilst the Seat owned firm are set to jump to the top of the list. On the other hand, General Motors are hoping to maintain their position within the top three despite the lack of new models being added to the market.

This year the Volkswagen group expect to sell over ten million new models for the first time. Audi are expected to be a major contributor to the success of the Volkswagen brand this year after announcing a record breaking sales quarter. The Audi brand are also adding a number of models to various different markets as the likes of the TT enter the next generation of models.

Back to the Seat Leon, the new Leon model will be available at the tidy price of £19,660 and will get to the 0-62mph in a time of 10.4 seconds. The model will be powered by the four cylinder diesel engine that of course helps to reduce the running costs of the Seat Leon Ecomotive model.
