Czech brand Skoda after months of speculation and rumours have officially revealed their brand new Fabia model today which is all set to arrive on our roads form early on into 2015. The Paris motor show is the venue where Skoda have revealed the vehicle for the very first time and they have also revealed some brand new features to come along with it.

Skoda have quickly risen in the ranks in the automotive industry thanks to vehicle additions like the Octavia and the Yeti but the Fabia is a vehicle for the brand which has helped them to achieve the all round success that they have been enjoying as of late. The Fabia is the biggest selling Skoda vehicle on the British market and now the mass manufacturer look to take it one step further with this brand new model.

What did Skoda announce about the brand new car in Paris?

The three main focuses for the brand this time around have been confirmed to be efficiency, the style of the car and also how practical the vehicle is. With this being said the firm revealed some new changes made to the exterior of the car which include a chrome grille, wide fog lights inserted low down in the front bumper and the bonnet of the car has also been molded to try and help increase aero dynamics and performance.

This new addition to the Fabia family has received adjustments to the width of the car meaning we now see an increase of 90mm whereas the vehicle is now 30mm lower than the previous Fabia hatchback. A longer wheelbase has however been included which will help to give much more interior space for the passengers in the car. If interior space is vital part of the vehicle for you, you will be happy to know that the brand also announced an estate version of the car which will also go on sale.

A total of six engine units have been confirmed for the car from launch which include both petrol and diesel units. The entry level variant is the 1.0,three cylinder petrol unit which will be available in two forms. One produces 59 bhp and the other 74bhp. These are the same units than can be currently found in the latest Volkswagen Polo. Two 1.2 TSI units will also be offered developing either 89 or 109 brake horse power. Finally your diesel options include a 1.4 litre TDI unit which can be chosen in either 89 or 103 brake horse power capacities.

Three trim levels for the new Fabia have been confirmed for the car which include the entry level S, mid level SE and of course the range topping Elegance model. Each trim level sees the additions of more additional equipment than the last with standard parts across all levels including things like six airbags, electric windows and a DAB digital radio. Moving up to the SE and we see air conditioning, front parking sensors, alloy wheels and a leather steering wheel. Finally the range topping Elegance addition includes 16 inch alloy wheels, cruise control, keyless entry, automatic air conditioning and a multi functioning steering wheel.

When are the first set of deliveries for the brand new Fabia?

Along with announcing some of the brand new features and components that are expected to make the new Fabia a big seller for the brand, the company have also confirmed that the first set of deliveries will occur from January of next year and an entry level price tag for the car has been confirmed to come in at £10,600.
