At this years Hannover motor show in Germany, Italian manufacturer Fiat have unveiled their brand new Doblo Cargo van which is all set for a launch next year. Fiat are well known for vehicles like the Punto,Panda and the huge selling range of 500 models. They have also been a key player in the automotive industry when it comes to van development and this has been demonstrated in the past by additions like the the Ducato and the Scudo. Commercial vans make up for a good range of sales for the manufacturer and this week in Germany the reveal of the latest addition to the Doblo division which has seen a total of five vehicles over the years will officially come in the form of the brand new Doblo Cargo.
New exterior and interior changes come into play with the Doblo Cargo and a brand new engine range which have all been confirmed to arrive with the van next Spring. Architecture of the vehicle is shared with the addition of the Combo from the Vauxhall brand and the exterior features include re designed front headlights, a brand new front bumper and the rear light cluster design has also been altered. A third seat for the front of the van which did not make it into the last addition has also been confirmed for UK versions of the van.
Now when we take a look into just exactly what it is that powers this van and what could make it a strong contender going head to head with some vans from Citroen and the Volkswagen firm, we see that the standard 1.3 and 1.6 litre, turbo diesel multijet engines find a place in the van this time around. Fuel consumption and C02 emissions have also been a key aspect of the Doblo this time around as a stop start system has been included during production time as has 115g/km of C02 emissions. A brand new traction control system can also be found in the van next year.
It has been confirmed that the Spring time will hold the place of the official release of the new Doblo Cargo next year with an exact date and a purchase price expected to be announced closer to this time.
