In some news today regarding the Czech car firm Skoda, we are pleased to report that this upcoming January 2015 on our streets here in the United Kingdom we will be treated to the brand new addition of the Fabia Combi model which is the estate version of the Fabia. The vehicle was officially unveiled for the first time ever in front of a live crowd at the Paris motor show last week. The Fabia is the second biggest selling Skoda model on the British roads and with other vehicles from the company such as the Octavia introducing an estate variant in the past, can the Fabia follow and match the success of other estate models in its class?

What new alterations and parts come along with the Fabia estate?

One of the obvious changes made to the car is of course the amount of added space you will be receiving with the Fabia. During its grand reveal last week, the firm confirmed that the vehicle will receive adjustments in both height and width with the car being 10 mm longer and 90mm wider than the standard hatch. The wheelbase of the vehicle also receives an increase as we now see that there is plenty more room at both the front and passenger back seating area. One of the biggest changes space wise though is the boot of the car which now carries 530 litres which a vast increase in size compared to the hatchback Fabia.

Fuel efficiency has also had a key role to play this time around for the Fabia and this can be demonstrated by the new engine range which will go on sale with the car this January. A total of six engine units will be made available with the Combi which include a selection of three diesels and of course three petrols. The power deliverances across the whole range do not differ much between petrol and diesel units. The petrol selection puts out between 74 and 108 brake horse power whereas if you go for the diesel it puts out between 74 and 104bhp. Both the standard manual and DSG transmission systems will also go on sale with the car. Brand new stop start technology is also made available in every single variant of the car to go on sale next year.

The brand new Fabia Combi also comes well equipped with some of the latest and best technology features all included to help further you driving experience with the Skoda brand. Options such as a brand new infotainment system, both front and rear parking sensors and a keyless entry and start system can also be found in the Combi. Customers at the time of purchase will also receive the optional extra choice of a panoramic roof.

Unfortunately at this point in time, the brand are yet to confirm what purchase price will come along with the car but expect to hear more on this soon. The Combi will however go on sale here on European markets and across other parts of the world from this upcoming January.
