Fastest ever Range Rover Evoque

The Geneva Motor Show is set to kick off at the beginning of March and there the fastest Range Rover Evoque will be revealed in the new colour of metallic Phoenix Orange. The new model from Range Rover owners, Jaguar Land Rover, is named the Range Rover Evoque Autobiography Dynamic. For the reveal at the Geneva show, the Evoque has been tweaked and it's power has been increased.

Since 2011, over 270,000 Evoque models have been sold by the firm. Jaguar Land Rover UK Managing Director, Jeremy Hicks, commented, “The Range Rover Evoque has been an enormous success in the UK with its blend of bold design, luxury and compact versatility. Demand remains strong two years after the start of production, and with the introduction of the Autobiography Dynamic, customers have more choice and access to a new heightened level of agility.”

Range Rover Evoque specifications

Power for the machine is delivered by the same 2.0 litre turbo charged four-cylinder petrol that is already available but it has been upgraded by 44 brake horse power and 60NM to deliver 281 brake horse power and 400Nm of torque. The vehicle's nine-speed ZF automatic gearbox has been recalibrated for a sportier drive, even in the automatic D mode.

Inside the Evoque receives suspension geometry, firmer springs and recalibrated adaptive dampers, while torque vectoring by braking is standard. The front brakes have been expanded from 300mm to 350mm in diameter.

To compliment these upgrades, the Evoque receives a different bumper and grille, 20 inch alloy wheels and Autobiography badges.

The new Range Rover Evoque tech and pricing

Inside, the model is the first to receive Land Rover InControl apps. These apps are specially designed so drivers can download them to their smart-phones. The apps then look and operate in the same way, whether used on the phone or through the car's Centre touch screen. This technology is set to be rolled out on all new Evoque models.

Land Rover are also producing their fastest ever production model, the Range Rover Sport RS later this year. A spokesperson for the company said there are no plans for an Evoque RS.

The Range Rover Evoque Autobiography Dynamic model is available in coupe or five-door body style and will be arriving in October this year at a starting price of around £50,000 and could be set to take on the likes of the Macan from Porsche.
