The Land Rover brand have made plans to celebrate the 25th birthday of the Discovery model by giving the long serving British based model an update. Upon the release of the updated model, the Discovery will cost somewhere in the region of £41,595.

Land Rover will give the model extra kit fitted as standard as well as a number of styling additions taken from the special edition model. The range will start with the SE trim which will bring the price to £1,590.

The SE trim will have a number of extras such as the cruise control, front fog lights and automatic headlights. Land Rover are also rumoured to be offering the in car connectivity in the form of the new In Control.

The order books have already opened for the new Discovery model and deliveries are expected to begin sometime in September.

Jaguar and Land Rover have been amongst the best selling manufacturers in the past 12 months as models continue to join the market to strong demand. The pair of manufacturers have added a number of models to the market in recent months and seen a sustained demand.

The new Jaguar XE model is set to give the BMW 3 Series a run for its money when it is released sometime next year. The model already boasts better figures in terms of the fuel economy and the efficiency of the XE as well as the price.

This time last year the Land Rover firm successfully introduced the new Sport model to the world. The British based brand unveiled the Sport at the New York Motor Show in Manhattan. The model hit the headlines as James Bond star, Daniel Craig, drove the model through Manhattan to the stage.

The new look Discovery model will be the pinnacle to the new look range of models. Last year, Land Rover announced that the Freelander range would be no more and instead the one shape model would join the Discovery range with the new name of the baby Discovery.
