The SUV division in the car industry is becoming increasingly more and more popular over the years and we have seen a range of brand new additions make their way into the sector over the course of the past seven years with the Nissan Qashqai dominating the majority of the market throughout the course of this time. Now though we are pleased to report on the arrival of a brand new SUV model which is set to make its presence felt throughout the course of 2015 and it comes to us courtesy of the minds over at the Mercedes brand.
The brand new GLE Coupe model will go on sale mid way through 2015 and could be that perfect vehicle for you and your family that you have been waiting for. The vehicle is now fully developed and this has been demonstrated by images of the car which were taken just a number of weeks ago of the vehicle undergoing its final testing phase ahead of its launch. Some information has been announced for the vehicle whereas some features remain uncertain at this moment in time.
So our first view into this car now will come from the direct power source to come along with the vehicle. The same 5.5 litre,V8 twin turbo engine that can be found in the ML63 AMG is expected to be found in the GLE Coupe but it is expected to be slightly tweaked. An all wheel drive platform is also expected for the GLE Coupe and a seven speed, automatic transmission system will also find its place in the GLE. Around 500 units of brake horse power is also expected to be delivered upon by the vehicle.
When the vehicle was spotted testing, it was disguised at both the front and rear end of the vehicle with the side of the car fully on display. The GLE was shown in a Silver paint scheme with a long sloping roofline designed in order to increase agility and dynamics of the vehicle. The biggest competitor on the market for the GLE Coupe is highly expected to be the BMW X6 but companies such as Audi with the Q5 may also have a battle on their hands with this all new SUV from the German automaker.
Although it has not been confirmed as of yet, the vehicle could very well receive its first public debut from the Detroit motor show in January if not before. Regarding a launch time for the vehicle, expect the car to go on sale around mid way through 2015 with a purchase price to be confirmed closer to the time.
