Nissan Qashqai to face fresh competition?

Nissan Qashqai to face competition

The Nissan Qashqai model is currently the best selling model in the larger crossover market. However, as you would expect the successful Nissan model is set to go up against some fresh new competition.

The first form of competition will come from the Citroen C4 Cactus model. The Citroen C4 Cactus model was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013 and received a number of rave reviews, since then the model has been finely tuned and readied for production before returning to the Geneva Motor Show once again last week.

The Citroen C4 Cactus model will be the first model to enter the crossover market under the Citroen name and is set to take the market by storm. The look of the model is not like anything else out there which has resulted in it being tipped for success. Not only does it look as good as it does, it is also priced at around £5,000 cheaper than the Qashqai model.

The Qashqai and the Juke models at the Nissan brand have already fought off competition from the likes of Renault, Vauxhall and Kia in the past 12 months. However, Volkswagen are set to join the market in the next 12 months with a new T-Roc model. The T-Roc model will sit just under the Tiguan model in the range and will fit the bill and rival the likes of the Nissan Qashqai in the crossover market.

Vauxhall already have the Mokka model in the crossover market and have stated that the model is achieving higher rates of sales than were originally predicted. However, the US based brand brought a new crossover concept model to the Geneva Motor Show last week under the Adam Rocks name.

The Vauxhall Adam Rocks is of course a variant of the successful Adam model at Vauxhall. The Adam Rocks seems to take the shape of a crossover model and offers that high up viewing position as well as a host of other features that define it as a crossover model. However, the Adam Rocks was powered by a 1.0 litre EcoTec engine which would reduce the running costs dramatically and help the model stand out against the likes of the Nissan Qashqai.
