Skoda Superb - Porsche Panamera - Nissan news

It has been rumoured that German sports car brand Porsche were to produce and sell an all electric version of their popular Panamera range. The model would have been set to be one of the biggest contenders locking horns with the likes of the Tesla Model S but today the company have officially stated that they are not producing the vehicle afterall. They have said that they are focusing all of their attention right now on new plug in hybrid technology which they are looking to offer in a vast amount of their current line up and future vehicles.

The head of research and development for the company Wolfgang Hatz released a comment on the matter today by saying “We are a sports car firm and that brings with it certain expectations. A Tesla is a fine car but you cannot drive it enthusiastically without losing range or performance too quickly. Until the technology offers a solution to these problems, we will not be looking at launching such a car”. A brand new Panamera model will go on sale in 2016 and will see many variants of the car come to dealerships.
