It was only a number of weeks ago that the addition of the brand new Q7 model from German car brand Audi was spotted undergoing testing on public roads ahead of a grand launch on our streets next year. Today though we have some more exciting news regarding the range and that is that a brand new hybrid version of the car has also been confirmed to be receiving a launch next year.

The vehicle is being marketed under the name of the Q7 e-tron and will be only the second e -tron model to go on sale from Audi. The release of the new Q7 next year will be the second life cycle that the car will undergo but can it prove to be just as popular as its previous addition to the world and will this all new hybrid version o the car dominate the markets and even help boost sales on the range in general?

The engine and specifications planned for the Q7 e-tron

Looking into the specifications we can expect to find in this vehicle, it is expected that the car will prove to be a top contender going up against the new Porsche Cayenne SE hybrid model due to the fact that it is expected to carry the same engine unit. This would mean that in the Q7 e-tron you could expect to find a three litre,supercharged,V6 engine. A power output of 316bhp would be expected much as we see in the Cayenne. The addition of a 94 brake horse power electric motor will also takes its place in the car. CO2 emissions are also expected to improve with this model as the brand have stated that one of their main big aims over the next number of years is to lower the CO2 emissions on their vehicles. The famous MLB platform has also been confirmed for this e-tron model which can also be found in the soon to be launched Bentley SUV model.

An arrival for the Audi Q7 e-tron

It is expected that the new Q7 standard model for 2015 will arrive around mid way throughout the course of next year. We would also therefore expect the hybrid vehicle to go on sale around the same time. We expect to see a slight price increase on the £45,000 area that is expected for the standard model too but as soon as more information is made available on this new hybrid addition, we will keep you informed.
