Sports car brand Mclaren are all set to launch a brand new vehicle onto our roads next year that could bring a huge battle the way of Porsche with their 911 vehicle and it comes to us in the form of the brand new Sports Series. Before confirming the official name of the vehicle, Mclaren had codenamed the car the Sports Series. The vehicle has been confirmed by the British firm with a photo that was posted on by themselves on their official Facebook page. The image of the vehicle that was posted shows us the front end of a Black Mclaren Sports Series undergoing testing under limited disguise. The image of the car shows that it adopts the same front end design as that of the P1 model that has been on sale for just over one year.

What can we expect from the new Mclaren Sports Series?

The brand are yet to confirm any official details on the vehicle but there are some features of the car that are believed to come with the vehicle as standard. A carbon fibre chassis and a V8 engine are confirmed for the car. In terms of rumour though,it is highly believed that a 3.8 litre, twin turbo unit will come fitted to the car. If this is proven to be the case then you can expect to see a power output of 450bhp. With a full carbon fibre chassis confirmed for the Sports Series, we can expect this to be one of the most lightweight Mclaren vehicles ever put on sale. It has been stated that the Sports Series will be the car below the 650s sports car and we believe thanks to the confirmed chassis, it could be the lightest Mclaren veh0icle that the company have to offer.

With a launch on the vehicle set to take place from next year we expect that we may see this vehicle displayed to the general public and media possibly at this months LA motor show or at the Detroit motor show next January. The likes of the Mercedes AMG GT is expected to be one of the top contenders on the road as far as matching this vehicle in regards to power and features.

How much is the Mclaren Sports Series expected to go on sale for?

Although remaining unconfirmed at this moment in time, it is believed that the car will be announced to go on sale along with a purchase price of around £120,000. As soon as more news is revealed on this vehicle, we will keep you updated.
