Last week, we brought you the news of the Citroen brand possibly releasing a new SUV model. Well the model has now been revealed along with images and the new name of the model. The Citroen brand neither confirmed or denied rumours over a possible new SUV model being built under the DS name.

The DS range of models at Citroen has been the most successful and consistent performers in the car market, despite there being a slump in the European car market. The Citroen DS 3 has won a host of awards and had achieved a considerable amount of sales, of which the French manufacturer hopes the SUV model can help to increase.

The French manufacturer are set to release their first model in the crossover market in the form of the C4 Cactus. The Citroen C4 Cactus model has been revealed at a number of motor shows over the last number of years and is arguably one of the most eagerly anticipated arrivals in the manufacturers long history.

The C4 Cactus model is believed to be going on sale next month at a price of just £13,000. The price is not only better than other models, but the model itself is said to offer more than rivals under the Nissan badge.

The Nissan Juke and the Nissan Qashqai models are the current market leaders in the UK and are available for over five thousand pounds more than the C4 Cactus model. The C4 Cactus model is also said to be more futuristic in the way the model looks and will offer the motorist that something different.

The new SUV model is set to feature at the Beijing Motor Show later this week alongside a new DS 6 Saloon model which will also be expected to build up the DS range. The images released of the latest SUV model seem to show a more narrow model than what we have become a custom to.
