The latest SUV development has been spotted during Jaguar winter testing. A number of online automotive publications have published a number of images including the latest Jaguar XE and the Jaguar SUV.

It is believed that the latest Jaguar SUV model has been based on the XE Saloon model which is set to take the market by storm. The Jaguar XE model is set to give the likes of the BMW 3 Series a run for its money due to the new model being a cheaper price and boasting better emission figures.

From the published images online, it seems that the Jaguar SUV model has taken on the shape of the Range Rover Evoque at the rear and has kept a number of the features associated with the Jag brand at the front of the model.

The new model will sit on the same all aluminium platform as the XE model and will look to go up against the market leaders in the form of the BMW X3 and the Audi Q5. The Audi and BMW brands have been going head to head in the last number of years in the premium car market and the race is hotting up.

Last year, BMW remained on top with the Audi and Mercedes brand just behind, however, in the first two months of this year the Audi brand has overtaken the main base brand of BMW.

The race is all set to change next year as the likes of the Jaguar XE and the Jaguar SUV model joins the market to rival BMW and Jaguar models.

It is believed that the model spied during winter testing was fitted with a 2.0 litre petrol engine and built on the architecture capable of fitting a V8 engine. Jaguar have recently designed and developed a new ingenium family of engines which will be rolled out on all models in the next number of years.
