Used Car Sales Rise

July brings welcome good news for used car sales.

Most recently used car sales and rises have been declining howevere July seems to have at last halted the trend.

Members sold 88,697 units in comaprison with just 83637 used cars sold in June.

A spokens person for the National Association of Motor Auctions is reported to have said "We are hopeful that the slight rise in conversion rates is likely to improve further in August due to the reduction in available stock as a result of the impending plate change.”

They also predict that our appitite for all used convertible cars will drop off as the seansonal chages happen we start to once again think about 4 X 4's.

Some think that this will lead to some garages and dealer groups potentially sitting on prime stock and simply waiting for the market to shift focus.

The average age of part-exchanges continued to be some two months lower than a year ago, at 87.3 months. Is this an inication that we are ll keeping our cars longer?

Naturally used car sales will see a seasonal descrease as the emphisis switches to new car sales.
