Boris Johnson proposes car free Sundays in London, the Hyundai i10 awarded Scottish car of the year and new images of the Lamborghini Asterion are displayed

Sports car company Lamborghini have today release some brand new studio pictures of their all new Asterion model. The car was first announced a number of months ago but these new pictures give us our best look at the vehicle yet. The very first taste of the car arrived at the Paris auto show in October and confirmed that the car would also run on a hybrid powertrain.

The car is set to be an ideal competitor when it comes to bringing the fight to other sports vehicles such as the Porsche 918 Spyder. Lamborghini have done their best though to keep the overall style and abilities of the car as far away as possible from its rivals with this vehicle being more focused for on road activity unlike some competitors which have been designed with tracks in mind. The Asterion will make history for the company as it is the first time that plug in hybrid technology has ever been fitted to a Lamborghini vehicle.

The studio shots of the Asterion show it in a Metallic Blue colour with its large alloy wheels and angular opening doors all on display. Images also reveal the full leather interior which comes in Beige and Brown with chrome inserts also finding their place inside the car.

The Hyundai i10 is voted the Scottish car of the year

The Association of Scottish Motoring Writers have awarded the Hyundai i10 the prestigious award of the car of the year for 2014.The i10 has been in production and on sale since 2007 and it was just last year that the second generation of the vehicle was introduced on a global scale. Since the latest version of the motor went on sale in Scotland in January, the vehicle has sold over 2,200 units making it the best selling Hyundai model that Scotland has on sale. This is a very impressive achievement for the Korean brand as other contenders such as the Citroen C4 Grand Picasso and the Jaguar F Type which won the award for best coupe were also represented in the category. The BMW i3 scooped the award for the best electric vehicle and the Mazda 3 also took its place of pride as the best family vehicle on offer.

Boris Johnson proposes car free Sundays in London

Another interesting development from London Mayor Boris Johnson has been making the rounds today, with the Mayor proposing the idea of London being a car free area on Sundays. Boris had the idea after taking part in the same event in Indonesia where he rode his bike in a car free zone. The Mayor confirmed that the idea of car free Sundays has been discussed in London for many years but now he is to instruct officials in London to reinvestigate into the matter for any further developments. With London being the capital and one of the busiest cities in the whole of the United Kingdom, do you think that this idea would actually work?. Let us know via our social media pages.
