Mini Clubman 2014

New Mini Clubman

The new six door concept model is set to be released at the Geneva Motor Show next week and is set to be one of the most eye catching Mini models on display. The design is said to make the existing Clubman model seem plain and bland.

The BMW manufacturer will be focusing on the Mini brand as they look to increase market share and edge closer to the Volkswagen Group in terms of global sales. BMW have recently eyed the electric car market as a possible market to expand and dominate in the near future.

The BMW brand have released a new i-Range of models within the electric car market and plan on releasing electric powered Mini Cooper models which are also set to go on sale in the next 12 months. The decision by those at BMW for the Mini brand coincides with the general decision by other manufacturers.

Other manufacturers including Mini and BMW rivals, Volkswagen have made plans to release electrically modified Polo and Golf models as well as a new e-tron range of models at Audi.

Back to the Mini Clubman, the two barn doors will remain at the rear of the model to provide wide and open access to the boot. The new Mini Clubman model is set to be both longer and wider to house the new larger doors at the rear of the model.

The round headlights and floating grille that we are so used to seeing on a Mini model can of course be found on the front of the new Clubman model. The new model will also have a new sporty profile which may help the model appeal to the more youthful generation. It is also believed that the Clubman model will have the ability to provide seating for five adults. In terms of the boot space, Mini are said to have increased the space to above the current size of 260 litres.
