New Chevrolet Corvette

New Chevrolet Corvette

Pacific and Atlantic design packs are showing off the luxurious and more track inspired parts of a Corvette's personality.

General Motors who of course own Chevrolet and Vauxhall amonst others, has announced two brand new special edition versions of the Chevrolet Corvette at the end of positive responses to two concepts that were shown at the SEMA Motor Show last year. The first concept, called Atlantic is based on the convertible and leans more towards a luxurious finish, whilst the second concept, which is called Pacific gets a more aggressive styling on the outside and in, due to being based on the stingray.

Both of these editions come as standard with the Z51 pack, which is already standard equipment on all United Kingdom models and features custom made floor mats along with splash guards and rear number plate surround. The Atlantic model, in addition gets a Z06 style prominent front splitter at the front, roof inserts, bonnet graphics, shark grey exterior vents, custom luggage and chrome wheels.

The Pacific model has satin black racing stripes in full length along with stingray centre caps, satin black wheels and a carbon fibre bodykit and roof panel, red brake callipers, carbon rear spoiler, mirrors and exterior badges. On the interior there are competition sports seats that are trimmed in either black or red, an indoor car cover and a carbon fibre trim. Colour options to choose from are white, black, red, grey or silver.

Under the bonnet there is a 460 brake horsepower 6.2 litre V8 engine that is capable of covering 0-62 miles per hour in 4.2 seconds, in both vehicles, though the Atlantic model comes with automatic eight speed transmission, whilst the Pacific model which is a lot sportier comes with a seven speed manual transmission. The Z51 standard fit pack adds bigger tyres, wheels and brakes a limited slip differential and firmer suspension.

There isn't any news yet on the prices of these models or whether the two editions will be made available to customers in the United Kingdom.
