The latest in Renault Shortfall news

The Grand Scenic and the Captur are already two of the biggest and best selling SUV models that the Renault brand have on offer right now and today's news adds more the excitement and that the company have brought another vehicle into the fold which will be introduced in the form of a seven seater SUV. The brand new car has not been given a name as of yet but we do know that the car is expected to land on European soil from 2017. The brand new model will take a crossover approach and has been said to sit just above the new Kadjar in the pecking order. Information on the specifications of the car or design structure are not currently known so it may be another year or so before we learn more. The car may however make use of the CMF platform that is featured in the new Kadjar. As soon as more information becomes available on the new addition, we will keep you informed here at Shortfall.

Renault to replace the Laguna later this year

The Laguna from the brand will be replaced later on this year by a vehicle that has now been seen out and about undergoing testing on public roads. Much like the brands next SUV, the replacement car still hasn't received a name and by the sounds of it, a launch for the United Kingdom has not been set in stone either. Ken Ramirez who is the head of Renault here in the UK has said that the new model is not a priority for the UK but this doesn't mean it wont happen. Test shots revealed the car fully under disguise but was packing a long sedan body style which therefore like the Laguna looks to pack some good amounts of interior space. Testing disguise hides the bodywork of the car and the interior so the replacement still pretty much remains a vehicle of mystery for the time being.

Renault reveal strong engines for the F1 2015 World Championship

It is certainly race season. The Moto GP season gets underway in two weeks time but before that, the Formula 1 2015 season gets underway in just two days time. Sunday will hold the first race of the season from Australia and Renault are making headlines in this area also. The race team have revealed their new engines that will take a place in this seasons cars which are to be more powerful than their last go around. V6 hybrid turbo engines are used in the cars for this season which Renault say develops twenty five percent more thermal energy than their previous run. A rise by five percent in efficiency for the units has also been confirmed. Renault did not do magnificently last year with the Lotus car using their engine ending up in 14th place at the end of the last season. Thanks to the new update Renault are now feeling more confident than ever heading into this years championship.
