Vauxhall Ampera Price Cuts

New Vauxhall Ampera

New buyers of the Vauxhall Ampera can get the model for £10,000 less than the list price of the model due to big reductions and Government scheme. The Vauxhall hybrid model has been amongst the strugglers in terms of sales over the past number of months.

The model is only range extender model and was said by many to be priced overly high compared to other competitors on the market such as the likes of the Nissan Leaf and the hybrid models at Volkswagen.

The Ampera model at Vauxhall was available for somewhere in the region of £33,000, but after discounts the model will be available for just £28,695 and along with the Government based incentive will be reduced down to £22,995.

With the new discounts the Vauxhall Ampera model will go up against the likes of the Volkswagen Golf Blue Motion which is priced at just £21,270.

It seems to be that the Vauxhall brand are one of the least developed brands in the electric car and hybrid markets. However, in the UK Car Market alone the Vauxhall brand is the second largest market share holder just behind the Ford brand.

The likes of the Vauxhall Corsa and the Vauxhall Astra models are consistent top ten features in the best selling cars list in the UK. The Vauxhall brand have recently revealed a plan to become the biggest brand in the UK in terms of market share as it looks to further expand and develop the range of models on offer in the UK.

The Ampera model has impressive low running costs but has found itself outside of the main competition group due to the high purchase price on the model. The model also finds itself inside the five percent tax free bracket and avoids the congestion charge in London. However, it seems that the Vauxhall brand has mis-marketed the model and therefore found itself in a struggle.
