SEAT have introduced a new sports styling kit for their Leon hatchback range. This kit will be crafted at the Spanish manufacturer's design studio in Martorell, Barcelona. The SEAT company claims that the new styling kit is designed to “perfectly compliment” the lines and curves of the Leon.
The new SEAT Leon styling pack
The pack features a new front bumper, side sills, roof spoiler and rear bumper with contrasting black diffuser. The kit also includes a set of twin exhaust pipes and 19 inch alloy wheels available in either black or silver. It will be available for the standard five door and three door Leon SC, giving the model a more muscular image similar to the range topping SEAT Leon Cupra model.
The styling pack's features are also available for individual purchase; the front bumper costing £1,500 and coming with integrated and revised fog lamps. The rear bumper costing £975 and rear roof spoiler £399. The side skirts cost £645, the twin sports exhaust costs £480 and the alloy wheels cost £999. These prices are the same for either the five door or three door variants, meaning that the full kit will cost around £20,000.
The SEAT Leon
The SEAT Leon was recently named Auto Express Car of the Year 2013, beating out rivals BMW 1 Series, Skoda Octavia and Volkswagen Golf. The third generation Leon is shorter, wider, lower and longer that the previous versions. It's the third car to be built on the Volkswagen Group's MQB platform, which underpins the Mk7 Golf and new Audi A3.
Power for the SEAT Leon range kicks off with the 1.2 litre TSI engine which produces 104 brake horse power, with the petrol line up being completed by a 138 brake horse power 1.4 litre TSI and a 177 brake horsepower 1.8 litre TSI. The diesel engine choices come in the shape of a 104 brake horsepower 1.6 litre TDI and a 148 brake horse power 2.0 litre TDI. Each of these engine choices can be equipped with a manual gearbox or a DSG automatic transmission.
Prices for the SEAT Leon range begin at £15,370 and the model's new styling kit is already available for purchase.
