Sports style cars are indeed a big hit not just here in Europe but all around the world also. We have witnessed the likes of Mazda climb the ladder of success with sports models as have other top brands such as Mercedes amongst many more.
The latest in thing when it comes to the automotive industry though, is electronic vehicles. We have seen many rise to fame over the most recent years world wide and could very well be a glimpse into the future of the car industry. What do you get though if you cross a sports car and an EV? Well the answer to that question comes very easily and that is of course, the I8 from German car designers BMW.
What makes the BMW i8 a successful car?
So what all new features and noteworthy specs find their pride of place within the i8 to help it stand out? Well we see a perfect combination of the use of the engine and motors here in which we see an all round top speed limit presented of 155 miles per hour which is helped to reach it's destination by a 0 to 62 miles per hour sprint time of 4.4 seconds.
An overall power output of 357 brake horse power is produced also from the great combination of a 1.5 litre, three cylinder turbo engine which is also joined along side by an electric motor. A two speed transmission system is fitted along with the electronic motor and a six speed, automatic transmission system also comes along with the engine which is made available as a four wheel drive variant.
Some neat features caught our attention with the i8 also which include adaptive dampers, LED headlights, heated leather seating,a dual clutch gearbox and parking sensors also make their way into the i8.
There are other EV models on the market right now from the likes of Toyota with the Prius and Japanese automaker Nissan however, we don't believe there has been an EV quite like this before. The i8 could very well carry the future of the EV market for many years to come.
What's the purchase price on the BMW i8?
After the standard government grant which comes along with EV models here in the UK, we see that the i8 has officially gone on sale for a grand total of £94,845. We are also delighted to bring to your attention that this all new i8 is on sale right now.
