The BMW 1 series range has proven to be a key seller for the German car brand over the years but today we are taking a look into the 130i model which is a more power orientated version of the 1 series that is on the road right now. Although maybe not to everybody’s taste, the BMW 130i is a large estate style vehicle produced by the brand which offers some great value in terms of being cheap to run.
This month here at Shortfall we are taking a look into some of the cheapest to run vehicles on the market and the 130i is certainly a model that we could not leave out. Performance was a key necessity for the vehicle and work was done to the chassis and overall performance of the car which altered it quite significantly from that of the standard 1 series model.
How well does the BMW 130i benefit its owners?
With the vehicle being more focused on the overall performance we thought that the best place to start would be with a look into the overall power of the car itself. We see that the power source of the 130i does of course come from the fitting of a three litre, six cylinder engine which has a power deliverance of 265 brake horse power. This means that the car is restricted to a top speed limitation of 155 miles per hour but this is helped to arrive at this destination by the 6.1 seconds in which it takes the car to make the sprint from 0 to 62 miles per hour.
There are also different trim levels that you can choose to opt for with the vehicle, the SE is the entry level and there is the M Sport model which improves the handling of the car and adds a bit more value for money. Run flat tyres come along with the vehicle as standard as do the 17 inch wheels and twin exhaust system. The M sport in our opinion is where the potential of this vehicle lies though. If you choose to purchase this range topping M Sport model you can expect to receive a vast range of new upgrades. Features such as a lowered spoiler,an M Sports suspension system,18 inch wheels,a leather steering wheel and sports seating make this variation definitely worth thinking about. The vehicle qualifies for lower tax rates due to the lowered C02 emissions which comes in at 99g/km.
How much does a brand new BMW 130i cost?
A purchase price of £26,515 comes along with the 130i brand new from your local BMW dealer and the vehicle is available to purchase and drive away from your local dealership right now.
