The new Skoda Superb to make a big impact this year

Skoda will launch their brand new addition to their Superb range later this year and it has already become one of the most anticipated vehicles from the company to get a launch this year. This week has been a big week for the Czech Republic based firm as they have revealed the full range of specifications to come along with the new model and we have all of the latest information regarding these specs for you here today. The Superb has a great reputation for being one of the most friendly family vehicles on the road today. It has been in existence since 2001 and has launched just two generations of model over the course of this time. This years grand launch will mark the third lifecycle for the brand new vehicle and given what we know now about the new car, we are very excited to see the kind of competition that the vehicle will bring to the table when it goes on sale.

The new features revealed this week for the new Superb

So what were these new features announced for the car you may be asking yourself?. Well don't worry as we have you covered in our post today. First and foremost lets begin with a look inside of the engine range that will provide some good power to the car. Skoda have announced that customers will have the choice of two petrol engines or they can however opt for the diesel unit which can be chosen in different power forms. The diesel is expected to be the big seller here in the UK due to the fact that the entry level model can put out 148 brake horse power with the alternative being the 187bhp setup. Petrol engines are available in either a 1.4 litre, turbocharged design developing 148 brake horse power with the other petrol carrying a capacity of two litres, also coming turbocharged but this time developing 276bhp. Both manual and automatic transmission systems will be offered with the car varying on which engine choice you spend your money on. The top end petrol is offered with a seven speed, automatic setup. Both leg and head room is also said to be massively increased.

The big selling point in our opinion however is the new range of additional equipment to come along with the vehicle. Skoda are offering four trims in total but the entry level models is also very generously treated. An emergency braking system, dual zone climate control and a 6.5 inch screen in the cabin all come as standard items. Parking sensors, wifi inside of the vehicle and an all new infotainment system are just some of the further added specifications that a find a place in the higher level trim options.

When are the first deliveries for the new Superb?

We can confirm that the new model will become available from your local Skoda dealership from this coming September but a purchase price for entry level models or higher trim options are yet to be confirmed by the Czech company. A figure of somewhere around the £20,000 area is expected to be confirmed for the entry level models though. Due to the nature of the car, there are a vast number of rivals on the road that could butt heads with the new Superb but some of the biggest and best that come to mind happen to include the likes of the 3 Series from BMW and of course, the Audi A4 aswell as others.
