The Renault Megane GT220 open for orders

Renault have revealed a newly updated version of their current Megane model. The revised model has been given the name of the GT220 and receives a lot more extra equipment and features than that of the current Megane. The new model is set to go on sale later this year for a cost of £23,245 but you can order the new addition from your local Renault dealer right now. We see new changes made both inside and out of the GT220 and we also see that a new engine has been fitted to the vehicle too. So lets check out some of the new highlights of the GT220.

New power and equipment for the Renault Megane

So one of the big attractive points for the Megane GT220 is of course the overall power that is to be given out. Power will come in at 217bhp and is provided by a two litre, turbocharged petrol engine. Buyers will have the option of owning either an estate version or hatchback Megane GT220. This means that the car can now travel upto 149 miles per hour. With the new engine also brings new fuel economy rates with thanks to a new stop start system which now comes as standard across the whole range. 169G/km C02 emissions are now the ending result. Throw in updates to the steering system and a new set of front brakes from the RS range and you have a vehicle which could very well prove to be just as special as the original Megane has proven to be.

Other pieces of kit which have been thrown into the mix also include the likes of eighteen inch alloy wheels, both cruise and dual zone climate control, sports seating and automatic lights. There are a whole range of rivals which could go head to head with the GT220 model with some of the big vehicles coming to mind including the Peugeot 308 GT and the Ford Focus RS.

How much will the new Megane GT220 cost?

Renault have also confirmed the prices that will come along with the GT220 across the range. The company have said that the price range on the model will kick off from £23,245. The five door hatchback model will cost you £24,230 and finally the sports touring estate model can be ordered for a figure of £24.245.
