Vauxhall beat Ford to the top spot-Subaru XV concept revealed-Revised Kia Rio

We have spoken a lot about how 2015 is going to be very eventful year for the automotive industry as we know it. What about last year though and some of the excitement that it delivered upon?. Well that is where today's revealing comes into play. There is officially a new king on the United Kingdom's car market and may we introduce the Vauxhall Corsa. For years Ford have dominated the new car sales charts in the UK with their very popular Fiesta model which has also been rated in as the best selling car in the United Kingdom ever. They have remained at the number one position year in and year out for a very long time.

Statistics have however shown today that the Corsa has claimed the number one spot in 2014 by beating the Ford Fiesta by just a figure of around 500 units. For the year in total, Ford had 7,507 versions of the Fiesta registered whilst the Corsa racked up 8,054 for the month of December alone. This is a huge deal for Vauxhall and the Corsa who have managed to de-crown the king of the city car Ford.

Tokyo reveals a bigger deal for the Subaru XV

It was earlier on this week that Subaru revealed their new XV Crosstrek model would receive a limited edition Yellow paint scheme for American customers but would only be available in a number of one thousand units. Subaru however have made the headlines again today by introducing a new updated version of the car in concept form from the Tokyo Auto Salon which officially got underway from today. The Japanese firm have revealed their new XV in the same Yellow paint scheme but this time carrying much more additional equipment than previous models which have been revealed so far.

The new model was revealed earlier today as concept vehicle and uses new highlights such as carbon fibre materials, seventeen inch alloy wheels and a brand new spoiler. One of the big lookers about the car though is that the Yellow and Black paint job on the outside is however carried over to the interior of the car but featuring more Black than Yellow. The only difference to be brought forward to this version of the car is a finely updated suspension system. We look forward to hearing more about the new concept addition from Subaru.

A facelifted Kia Rio is on the way

Two new models have been revealed this week in some form or another from Korean brand Kia showing a brand new set of revisions for the 2015 year being brought forward to both the Picanto and the Venga range. Kia have not stopped there though as they have also revealed this week that their very popular selling Rio model will also receive some changes this year. Kit to come along with the car has been updated as has some minor visual changes also. The air intake system on the Rio has been lowered and both bumpers have also had some work done too. Looking at the Rio from the front end, we see chrome striping spread from the left headlight to the right.

Opting for some of the top of the range trim levels will give you a seven inch touchscreen with built in sat nav and Gloss Black trimmings. A heated steering wheel, Leather seating,LED daytime lights,a keyless starting system and rain sensing windscreen wipers are some of the personal highlights to be found across different trim levels. Of course the higher you pay, the more equipment you shall find.

A total of four engines are available and are carried over from the current Rio meaning the options of two petrol units and two diesel units and prices have been announced to begin from £10,345 for the entry level model.
