Vauxhall to overtake Ford in the UK?

Vauxhall to overtake Ford in the UK?

Both the Ford Fiesta and the Ford Focus have kept the likes of the Vauxhall Corsa and Astra models off the top of the UK sales charts for a number of consecutive months. Both the of the US manufacturers top the market share leader board with Ford out in front with 14% and Vauxhall slightly behind with 11% .

However, at the recent Frankfurt Motor Show, Vauxhall boss Duncan Aldred made a confident claim of beating the Ford brand in terms of market share by 2016. He insists that the 3% more market share that the manufacturer currently has over the Vauxhall brand will be eaten into with the addition of new models.

New models such as the Adam, Mokka soft roader and the new Cascada soft top model. As well as the new models, a refreshed Insignia model is also set to make inroads into the leadership that Ford currently holds over the Vauxhall brand.

The Ford Fiesta model has sat at the top of the UK sales charts for over 12 consecutive months and the Vauxhall Corsa and Astra models have come close to overtaking the model. The likes of the Vauxhall Adam is also set to take the UK car market by storm and will be the third Vauxhall up towards the top of the sales charts. The new Adam model has a distinct sense of style and colour scheme and has already been a hit within the first days of the September plate change.

The New Vauxhall Ampera ...

The current Ampera electric model has somewhat struggled in the way of sales and has led bosses at General Motors with no alternative but to reduce the price of the model in order to increase sales. Ford plan on joining the likes of the BMW i3 and the Vauxhall Ampera with a new electrically powered Ford Focus within the next number of months.
