Volkswagen Beetle special edition models-Renaultsport crossovers-the revised Mercedes A Class

The New York Motor Show this week played host to the reveal of brand new special edition concept versions of the Volkswagen Beetle. There is four of them in total but the one that all eyes are on for the moment is the addition of the new R Line model. This particular addition into the range will carry some big upgrades compared to the standard model which will see new features such as the likes of an all new rear diffuser, a spoiler and a set of twenty inch alloy wheels. Moving our view inside of the car and we can expect to find sports style bucket seats and carbon fibre trimmings. A good strong amount of power is also produced coming in the form of 217bhp thanks to the engine found underneath the bonnet which has been confirmed to be a two litre TSI setup. Other models in the range include the Pink edition, the 'Convertible Wave' and the 'Convertible Denim'. No production has been confirmed for any of the models as of yet and it is believed that not all models will make it into production. We expect an announcement on this story over the course of the upcoming months.

New Crossovers on the way from RenaultSport?

We all know RenaultSport for offering more powerful versions of some of their standard models. When we think of Renault standard models, the likes of the Clio comes to mind which is a model offered under the RenaultSport badge. However when we look at the vehicles which are proving to be a success right now, the Crossover segment is certainly a strong contender on the market and Renault have noticed this also which is why they could be planning new performance crossover models for the future which would be badged under the RenaultSport name. The chief of RenaultSport Patrice Ratti has said that both the Captur and the new Kadjar are being thought about as being badged as RenaultSport models in the future. No news has however come out stating what updates will be brought forward to the car or even if the vehicles are set in stone. Thanks to this announcement though, we do know that there is some strong potential for these vehicles in the future.

The new model is already confirmed to go on display from the Frankfurt Motor Show this coming September before it goes on sale from next year. The new car was spied carrying a three spoke, multi functioning steering wheel. An all new infotainment screen was also seen appearing from the dashboard. Outside of the vehicle will also receive some new changes which will include the likes of revised bumpers both at the front and back of the car. All new lighting clusters can also be found outside of the vehicle. For now, no more news has been revealed about the new A Class but there is expected to be a significant rise in power thanks to some fine tuning which is expected to be completed on the engine range. More on the new revised A Class as and when we have it.
