BMW 5 Series winter tests-Ford Mustang orders-Lotus 2014 sales

Recent statistics revealed show that the Lotus sports car brand have had a very successful past twelve months. The figures revealed that for new car sales during the 2014 year, they were up on sales by fifty four percent compared to the previous year. This is a huge leap for the manufacturer from here in Britain. The total figure of new cars sold for Lotus last year was revealed to be 1,565. Eighty one percent of these sales were done in the United Kingdom and France also did very well for Lotus sales too.

That is not the only exciting news to make its way out of Lotus though, the company have also confirmed that they are to bring a new model along with them to the Geneva Auto Show arriving this March. There is no comment as of yet on just what the vehicle will be but a new Evora model is apparently in the works. There is no word on if this will be the car to arrive though. As soon as we hear any more information on this mysterious sports car, we will have the latest for you.

The new BMW 5 Series begins winter testing

The next addition into the BMW 5 Series range has been spied undergoing winter testing. It is reported that one of the biggest changes that will find its way into the next model will be the additions of more lightweight materials in order to propel the speed and dynamic performance that the 5 Series puts out. Even though we have seen images of the car, there is still a lot of the vehicle being kept under lock and key as there was a lot of disguising involved. Carbon fibre and aluminium materials are expected to be used for the bodywork structure though. Both V8 petrol and diesel engines are expected to be used in the new production model and there is also going to be a hybrid version of the car going on sale in the future also. We do know that a lot of new technology is going to be incorporated into the new 5 Series but as for what this is, remains top secret for now. A self driving system is one of the rumoured features however. There is no time scale as to when the car could be expected to be go on sale. The car was looking ready in the winter test photographs which could possibly hint towards a late 2015 to early 2016 reveal.
