Ford reveal new information on the brand new Mondeo model

Today marks an interesting day in the future of the Ford brand and it involves their popular Mondeo vehicle. The first time the Mondeo was ever put on our roads was in 1992. It has a total of four lifespans under its belt, with the latest fourth generation model being produced this year. Now we are pleased to report on the news that brand new details have officially been confirmed by the company themselves regarding some brand new features to come along with the vehicle. Engine ranges are a key change here as are some new additional pieces of equipment that can be found in the Mondeo.

What new features have been confirmed for the new Mondeo?

So the main big changes to come along with the Mondeo this time around consist of changes made to the Mondeo parts and accessories and special features. Perhaps the big noticeable change to take affect though is the new engine line up found in the car. The American company have stated that that a hybrid powertrain will come into play for the first time ever in a Mondeo and the companies latest Ecoboost engine will also be included with the new Mondeo. The evolution of the Mondeo has been incredible since 1992 when we first seen the Mk1 version of the car. New technological advancements are made in the vehicle as each model is launched and this has been demonstrated very well with this brand new addition to the range.

Regarding the engine, we see the Ecoboost unit come as a 1.0 litre variant and the additions of diesel engines which consist of two 2.0 litre turbo units that produce 148 and 178 brake horse power. A twin turbo variant of the same engine will also see a deliverance of 207 brake horse power. A 1.6 diesel is also a key player in the car which sees the brands ECOnetic label come along and emits just 94g/km C02 emissions. As far as those Ecoboost models are concerned, we see both of these in the form of petrol engines which 123 bhp,158,201 and 237brake horse power across the line up. Both a 1.5 litre and 2.0 are your Ecboost options from the time of purchase.

The Ford Mondeo hybrid variant has a 2.0 litre petrol engine and two electric motors included. The whole vehicle from the images that have been released show the Mondeo in a colour matched Red paint design but more colour options may be made available. Ford are a manufacturer who have dominated the car industry for many years and that was demonstrated by the ten year consecutive run at the top for the Focus and the Fiesta earlier on this year be named the biggest selling car in the United Kingdom of all time.
