Honda CR-V special editions

The Japanese auto makers, Honda, have unveiled two special editions of their Honda CR-V model. These special edition variants are the Black Edition and the White Edition. To separate them from the rest of the range, there have been cosmetic tweaks and equipment upgrades.

The special edition Honda CR-V specs

Two of the three engines offered in the CR-V range are available with the special edition models. These are the 153 brake horse power 2.0 litre i-VTEC petrol or the 148 brake horse power 2.2 litre i-DTEC diesel. Whichever engine is chosen, they can be mated to a six speed manual or a five speed automatic gearbox.

The 2.2 litre engine is the more economical of the two engine choices, as it has a fuel economy of 50.4mpg and produces CO2 emissions of just 149g/km.

The special edition Honda CR-V styling and tech

Exclusive features on both models include new 19 inch Orion alloy wheels, exhaust finisher and privacy glass. At the front, there is a new patterned grille while at the back there is a new roof mounted spoiler. Integrated running boards along the sills boost practicality, while front and rear skid plates complete the visual overhaul and prevent damage underneath the car.

Inside, the models remain unchanged though they do come fitted with dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth, front and rear parking sensors, electric door mirrors and sat nav as standard. With these unique key features in mind we do beleive that this addition to the Honda range will very much prove to be a great contending rival brands such as the likes of BMW, Citroen and Vauxhall.

Honda UK's head of cars, Leon Brannon, commented, “The CR-V is already a very popular choice thanks to its combination of distinctive and refined styling and excellent versatility. The new Special Edition Black and White enhance the range even further, offering real standout appeal and a bold new look. Now the only decision for customers is which colour most turns their head.

The Honda CR-V model is a safe vehicle, having been awarded a full five star rating in the 2013 Euro NCAP crash tests. The vehicle scored an impressive 93% for adult occupant protection and 74% for child occupant protection.
Honda is promoting the Black and White special editions online, by asking customers to vote for their favourite by using the hashtag #CRVWHITE or #CRVBLACK.

Both special edition Honda CR-V models are available now, with prices starting from £28,400 for the petrol model fitted with the manual gearbox, a saving of £770 when compared to the CR-V SE-T model.
