The new Jaguar XF all set for New York

Jaguar-Land Rover have announced that their brand new XF addition which was first revealed last week will make a grand debut to an international audience from next months New York Motor Show. Before this though, UK fans will get their best look yet at the new model when it goes on display tomorrow at a special event being hosted in London. Today however, some more information regarding the vehicle has been revealed as we now also know that the new car will go on sale from the Autumn time of this year. Jaguar first teased the new model last week when we were treated to a birds eye view image of the car which revealed the roof and mirror sculpturing that Jaguar will use this time around. Thanks to this new body sculpturing, Jaguar have announced the car will be much lighter and more agile than other models which have come before. The firm will have used this new design method in order to provide much more competition to the way of BMW with their 3 Series range and the likes of the Q5 from Audi.

What more do we now know about the new XF?

So in terms of what was revealed for the new car today, the chassis of the car will be shared with that of the XE and is said to be more than seventy five percent made from aluminium. Both rear wheel drive and four wheel drive variants will be introduced for the range with the rear wheel drives making their way to the market first. The news was confirmed today that the car will feature a two litre turbo diesel engine but a new two litre petrol engine is also expected to be revealed further down the line. Jaguar have however stated that if you are a private buyer of the new car, you can look forward to a supercharged V6 engine. This is to give out around 600 brake horse power in total.

The main big changes introduced to the XF though will come fitted inside of the cabin. The firm have revealed new images of the cars interior which reveals the use of a ten inch screen which is located in the centre of the dashboard. An all new HUD display and the brand will also launch smartphone connectivity which links up to both Apple and Android systems via the download of an app. This app will then link to your vehicle and allow you to heat up the car or make it cooler before you even get inside and it will also display where your vehicle is parked in a crowded area. This all works in par with the brands new Incontrol infotainment system. The British firm have revealed that there will be multiple trim levels to choose from but have yet to announce any extra features that will come along with higher trim levels.

Will the Jaguar XF be the standout star of the New York Motor Show?

There are a lot of cars confirmed for this years big event so far but will Jaguar's new addition be the headlining act?. With these features that we have learnt about the car today, we believe this to be the case yes. The new XF could very well be the one to look for. Watch this space as we will have more on the new model as and when we receive it. More information could possibly be revealed tomorrow at the cars debut in London.
