The new Land Rover Discovery Sport for 2015 makes a grand entrance

In one of the most entertaining vehicle debuts in recent memory, the all new Land Rover Discovery Sport has officially arrived and it arrived at the Paris motor show yesterday via a barge on the River Seine. The Discovery Sport could very well be the standout vehicle of the show this year as Land Rover are one of the only manufacturers to display just the one vehicle this year.

This brand new addition to the Land Rover family has been confirmed to be the official replacement for the companies Freelander. It has been stated by the brand that this brand new model for 2015 is only one of the three new variations that are set to go on sale. The very same platform for the Discovery Sport 2015 can also be found in the brands Range Rover Evoque but it has been modified.

As the official replacement for the Freelander, we see that this Sport addition to the line up has more length and less width than the Freelander. It maintains that great family aspect though as the company behind the car have made it a seven seater which is split into two rows of two including drive and passenger and the middle row being a three seater. Two colour variations of the car have been displayed which show a silver finish and the stunning metallic orange.

The brand new features included for the 2015 model

A lot of the comfort and technology aspects that have been included in the past can still be found in the 2015 version and a good range of power is also a key noteworthy feature. In regards to what you can expect to find underneath the bonnet of the car, the only engine available from launch has been confirmed to be a 2.2 litre,SD4 unit which will put out 187 brake horse power. Transmission systems are a key variable with the car as we see options open which include a nine speed automatic, a standard six speed manual or both four and two wheel drive transmissions too. Varying on which transmission system you opt in to, the firm have confirmed that a top speed of 117 miles per hour is reached by the car. From the official launch date of the car, there have been four confirmed trim levels available for the model which will each add additional pieces of kit. These are SE,SE Tech, HSE and HSE Lux.

A reasonable amount of kit is also offered with the vehicle which give you on board Wifi, Meridian audio system which comes with seventeen speakers,a sat nav system right the way up to a five inch touch screen. Both Land Rover and Jaguar are certainly having a big presence in the automotive industry this year as the new Range Rover Sport has been delivering on quick speeds and an excellent driving experience. Their partner brand Jaguar has also delivered with the new XE model which was revealed a number of months ago in London at a big event. Both the XE and new Sport model have been revealed in Paris this week but can their grip on the car market at the time of launch be just as successful as the feedback they have both received?.

What do prices on the Land Rover Discovery Sport 2015 begin at?

It has been confirmed that the opening price to come along with the car from the launch will come in at £32,395 with prices rising to £42,995 for the range topping HSE Lux. A diesel variant of the vehicle has also been confirmed to join the line up later after the vehicles initial launch and will come in at around the £30,000 area. Expect to see the new Sport arrive on our roads from late 2015.
