Today we are focusing our attention on the forthcoming Jaguar F Pace model which is set to go on sale next year. The car was announced a number of months ago and will make history for the British firm as the first SUV model to be offered by the company. Today we are looking into some very tough competition for the model in the SUV division, a look into some of the possible specifications to come along with the car and all of the latest regarding speculation of the engine unit to come fitted to the new F Pace. The SUV segment has certainly hotted up over the years as we have seen companies such as Kia and Nissan try their hand in it and come out successful. With Volvo launching the new XC90 and Audi with the new generation of Q7 on the way this year, the Jaguar F Pace will certainly have some fierce competition heading its way from the time of launch next year.
What do we know of the bodywork and engine range for the F Pace?
The car has been spotted a few times last year and this year undergoing some winter testing but each time the car was spotted, there was quite a considerable amount of disguise all over the vehicle hiding some of its all new features and components.
Looking first though into the engine range of the F Pace, Jaguar Land Rover have not commented on what will come fitted with the car but it is being strongly believed right now that the new SUV will carry both a turbocharged petrol and diesel offering with supercharged engines also expected to be introduced later on into the duration of the cars lifecycle. One of the obvious sightings was the curved lights at the back of the car and moving towards the front end, we see lights very similar to those used on the XE. Unfortunately the interior design features are yet to be revealed by the company so we have to wait for any confirmation on this. There could be a possibility of a revealing at the Frankfurt Motor Show near the end of this year as we would not expect to see the new SUV this soon in Geneva.
Bringing competition the way of the F Pace
So competition from other vehicles, where do we start. Virtually every manufacturer now has a Sports Utility Vehicle on offer or is set to over the course of this year with companies such as Bentley joining the fray with their Bentayga model. Expect to see the F Pace go up against some familiar faces though as the likes of the Macan from German opponent Porsche and the new XC90 from Volvo this year. It is to be an exciting year for the SUV segment and we cannot wait to see just how well the F Pace performs upon its arrival.
