The CEO of Ford has spoken today and believes that our driverless vehicles are around just five years away from going on sale on roads all around the world. The new autonomous driving technology has been making the headlines in Las Vegas this week as Mercedes revealed their vision for the future with the Luxury in Motion concept model featuring technology of the highest standards. Audi also debuted new technology fitted to the A7 by driving it from Silicon valley California all the way to the CES show in Vegas.
Ford are not one of the companies looking to offer the technology as of yet but have shown that they are involved with future technology by making the new Mondeo a hybrid variant for the first time ever. Ford CEO Mark Fields made a comment in the self driving technology by saying “Fully autonomous vehicles are a possibility. Probably in the next five years, you will see somebody introduce autonomous vehicles”.
Lookers open brand new Ford dealership
Lookers are one of the most recognised motor dealers in the entire United Kingdom and this week the dealer has partnered up with the Ford brand to open a new £4 million showroom in Essex. A total of three showrooms from Ford partnered up with Lookers are set to open up this year across Britain and eighty five total vacancies have been opened up in the new Essex showroom this week. The news carries Ford very well into the 2015 year as they look to introduce a range of new models onto the road and become one of the most successful companies in the UK with dealerships that can supply for the demand Ford are hoping to receive this year. The director behind the Ford and Lookers partnership Bob Grant commented on the future for these dealerships by stating “Customers are at the very heart of our successful growth strategy and our dedicated team are geared up and ready to deliver a full and comprehensive experience few others can offer”.
The Zenos E 10 S reveals itself
This years Autosport International motor show opened up this week and one of the big car makers on hand at the event has been Zenos. They have now lifted the veil off of there popular Zenos E10 S which has been very much anticipated over the course of the past year. The brand new sports car was revealed in a dual colour scheme consisting of jet Black and light Blue. Zenos have done a deal with Ford which allows them to use their Ecoboost engine coming in the form of a two litre GDTi. Both left and right hand drive options are open to customers at the time of purchase as are a choice of optional packages including adjustable dampers and heated seating as two of the main highlights. Production of both the E10 and the E10 S which is a more sports orientated version of the standard model have now began and the new sports car will go on sale from March of this year.
