The Fabia supermini is one of the oldest Skoda models in it's line up and the company plan to make a new Fabia model for the 2014 year. The Fabia was originally launched in 2007 and slowly dropped in sales, last year the company only managed to sell 202,000 units compared to 2012's 240,000, a drop of 28,000 vehicles, which is not helped the stiff competition in the European market.

Following in the footsteps of rival brands Volkswagen and Toyota, Vauxhall have announced plans to create their own city car which will be based on the next generation Chevrolet Spark platform. The company originally planned to develop the model in partnership with PSA Peugeot Citroen but Vauxhall's owner, General Motors, have decided to use the Spark's platform instead.

Vauxhall are hoping to break even by 2016. General Motors pulling Chevrolet out of Europe has helped to put Vauxhall on course to make a profit by 2016. GM is taking a rather new approach in how it sells vehicles in Europe once Chevrolet pulls out and Vauxhall is then on course to turn a profit again by 2016.

The Cactus model from Citroen will be arriving in France in June of this year and will have a starting price of £13,000 in the United Kingdom. The vehicle will have a starting price of €13,950 when it goes on sale later this year in France. Pricing in the United Kingdom has not been confirmed as of yet, though a Citroen UK spokesman allegedly exclaimed that this will equate to around £13,000 when it comes to the United Kingdom later this year in October.
